I couldn't figure out the best place to post this so please forgive me if this is inappropriate. I grew up in the 60s and 70s in Springfield, MO. For several years we lived right next to the track that ran down to the gravel quarry in Galloway, if anyone knows where that is. I loved seeing the Frisco trains and would like to include some in my planned layout. The layout is freelanced (I know most people on this site prefer layouts based on the prototype but mine is already started) and is in the Missouri Ozarks. I still have a chance to add the gravel quarry which I think I will do. The time frame on my layout is NOW. My idea is to set things up as though Frisco was left as a small regional division of BNSF. It would still be owned by BNSF so some of their equipment would be seen on the tracks but Frisco would keep their own paint schemes and equipment. My question is this: In this scenario, what locos do you think would be seen? Would there still be some GP-35s or 38-2? How about a couple of SW-1500s or would they have more modern equipment? I plan on the BNSF locos to be fairly new with the Frisco being older but well maintained units. Thanks for any help you can give me and again, sorry if this is the wrong group for the questions.
