Ok friends, I feel silly asking this as I have been a modeler for over 40 years but here is my story. I have not been able to model (HO scale) for about 5+ years due to bad eye sight. The desire has still been there and I have decided to give O scale a shot. However, I know nothing other than the era I want to model and that I want to scratchbuild everything. I am looking at the time period from 1900 -1930. This is where I need your help. I need to find sources for drawings/plans/blue prints for rolling stock that are very detailed, photos of the same, O scale detail parts sources, scratch building material sources, scale lumber sources, etc...... Can anyone help? Thanks!!! Tim
I have a friend who is an O scale bigfoot here in the Chicago area. I will forward your note to him and see if he can give you some guidance. This may take a couple of days, so hang on. Greg Stout
You could have a kick-butt O scale switching layout in a reasonable amount of space using an Atlas SW switcher and an urban theme such as the West Bottoms of Kansas City. Doing the same in steam may be a bit more challenging.
