I am wanting to print some decals, mostly for industries and their trucks. Looking for pointers and tips. I have an Epson ink jet for color and an HP laser that only does b&w. The Epson ink jet has a better resolution, so that is the one I will probably use. I have Corel Draw, but I am trying to learn Photo Shop Elements. I have used both Word and Power Point in the past to print decals. It, however, has been many years ago, and I am sure that some of you have some tips for help an old man out.

I'm not sure what info you're looking for. After all, I'm just getting into decal making myself and what I tell you may not be the best way. Here's what I can tell you.
I've tried waterslide decal paper made by Testors in both white and clear. I read somewhere to use white if you need white on your decals because printers don't print white. I'm not sure if that's true...it's just what I read. I've had better success with white than clear regardless.
Directions: 1. Spray clear laquer over the decals and allow to dry then spray again and allow to dry. 2. Cut out and soak in water about 20 seconds. 3. Carefully position decal and pull out ("slide") backing from underneath. 4. Carefully paper towel dry any water drops. 5. Clear coat with laquer (optional for protection)
That's all I know and I'm steal experimenting/learning. Maybe this helps. Maybe not.
In any case, I've been disappointed with my black ink being too light despite selecting my best printer quality.:( I have a "HP Officejet 4315v All-in-One." Since my black ink didn't match my black locos I tried printing gold on clear but then the gold was virtually invisable.

I will probably be trying some printing on the Testors decal paper next week. I really wanted black decals on the first item I attempt, so I think I will start with the clear decal film.
