I've been meaning to get on this site for a while now. I'm a fan/modeler of all roads that ran through Ft. Worth in the 1960s. I like the early paint schemes, Katy red, T&P black/swamp holly, ATSF bookends, and especially Frisco black/yellow. Since Frisco introduced red/white in about 1967, I guess I'll have to eventually model one or two of those. I got my interest in trains when as a young boy I made 4 trips on the Texas Chief to Chicago to visit my mother's parents. Those trips were over a 7 year period. When in Chicago, we rode the L to Wrigley Field. So I got a huge dose of trains as a child. Hope to learn a lot from everyone here. Have fun modeling.
Welcome to the Frisco website, John!!! There is a lot of great members and information here. Feel free to ask questions and share photos of your modeling. We like photos. Do you have a layout and what scale? Several members have build threads going, you might want to check them out. Enjoy. Joe
John, Welcome Aboard! There's plenty to see and learn here. Don't hesitate to ask questions and take time to look at the How To threads under the Support sub-forum.
Thanks, Keith and Joe. Looking forward to sharing with this group. I'm modeling in HO, and am starting a new layout now. I'm knitting together some chunks from the previous layout just to have a little bit running. Currently, since I am a widower, I'm turning the master bath into a model shop. That will take some time before I can get to serious layout progress. Thanks for the heads up on 'build' and 'How-TO' threads. That will help with site navigation and threads to look for. See ya'll later.
