Hello Y'all, How are you all doing? Well, I wanted to jump in here and answer Andre Ming's question that he posed to me on the Early Rail Forums on Yahoo Groups, asking if I was getting back into the hobby. The answer is yes, but very slowly. It's been a real interesting year, and I have had a lot of time to reflect on my life and situations and I am going to take up the hobby again, but with a much more tempered zeal. YesteRRails is still in business. It is being revived as well, and I will be working on some decals and other accessories for Turn of the Century railroad cars. I spoke with my contact at Micro-Scale Industries and we are looking at Frisco decals to come out after the new year. An exact release cannot be given to you. Cars include box, reefer, furniture, flat, gondola, and caboose. Missouri and N. Arkansas folks: yes, your cars are coming soon too. KCFS&M, KC&CS folks: yes, you as well. Resin cars are being looked at right now. Just hang tight. Frisco cars include box, furniture, and gondolas. It is going to take me some time to get things up and running, so please have some patience. Thanks again for understanding. Look forward to being back, albeit reserved at first. Enjoy! If y'all have any more ideas for mouse pads or coffee cups, let me know. Manny
Welcome back, Manny - good to see the SAFN and SAAP reporting marks back online. I'll look forward to hopefully seeing more of your modeling projects show up. Best Regards,
Hey old buddy, great to hear from you again. Now I don't feel so lonely with my early ear modeling. You have a lot of catch up reading to do I'm sure.
Manny! You have no idea how many times your name has crossed my mind. I have to ask .. Do you still have Roosevelt ? Glad to see that you have reappeared!
Thank you all for such a nice welcome back. I appreciate it. The hunger to model has come back. Just taking it slow. Jim, I looked at your work on the Zalma Branch the other night. Outstanding! Snag the Jordan Miniatures now while you can because the owner died last week and they are no longer being produced! I lost Roosevelt. I miss him terribly. I had to find him a new home because of the upheaval in my life. I really miss him! I am looking forward to start making some tank cars again, and some boxcars. Lots of projects in the hopper, sort to speak. It will be slow, but will progress. Thanks again y'all.
Welcome back Manny. Jim: I model the 1960's in HO. However I do my TOC19 modeling in "V scale". I'll bet you I've got more track for the Frisco "laid" than anybody here. My virtual rails are at Seligman to the north and Talihina to the south. In addition I have the entire St. Paul Branch, the entire Mansfield Branch (in fact, all the rr's of the "Coal Belt" south of Ft. Smith), all of of the Iron Montain track at Van Buren (and Ft. Smith) and their branch to Greenwood, Ark. For good measure I also laid the rails of the spectacular Black Mountain & Eastern out of Combs, Ark., to Cass, Ark., plus enough track at all the connections so as to have realistic interchange! "One of these days" I'll get the rails to Monett on the north end, and lay the rails of the Eureka Springs Rwy over to Eureka Springs. All in good time!
