My name is Richard and I grew up in Joplin, Mo. My Dad who recently died at the age of 97, was a retired Frisco clerk. Most of the time he was a Mud Hop (yard clerk) but worked as OS&D Clerk and at other jobs when bumped from his Yard Clerk position. (even worked as janitor at the office at 10th and Main for a while) I loved going to work with him especially when the passenger trains were still running, I am now 61 but the sounds of nearby Ruth Yard in Joplin still echo in my mind when I go to bed some nights. We lived about a mile away and I knew that Dad was out there working. The train I remember best that we traveled on was the Texas Special. I have lived in Texas for many years and have over the past 15 years traveled all over the the US VIA Amtrak. Many "Train things" surround me in my office. The two dearest, a cross made of railroad spikes welded together by a good friend and the 1970 & 1980 Frisco wall calendars that hang on my wall. I am looking forward to exploring the Frisco Library.

If you could get a good, square-on high resolution digital picture of the 1970 Frisco calendar (assuming it is the one-sheet version), put in in a Zip file (right click and Send To Compressed Folder) and attach it to a post under The Interchange tab, Memorabilia, (see the post When Your Freight Goes Frisco), I would make you a 2009 full version and send it to you in 11x17 size as well as a 2010 version.
