    Hi,
My name is George Jarrett.**** My Father was a Brakeman, and an Uncle worked in the Shop at the Lindenwood Yard.**** I had the opportunity on many occasions to be in the Shop, walk around the Engines being worked on, and got to walk through the inside of "F" series while running.**** Before the Old Roundhouse disapeared, I climbed on the Steamers that were in storage.**** My Grandmother used to live on Fyler Ave about 1/2 block to the East of the Yard, so I used to spend a lot of time on the Old Fyler Ave bridge watching the trains being put together, and broken apart.**** I also watched the Passenger Trains going through, always loved the Red and Silver.**** At Midnight on New Years Grandma and I would go into her front yard and bang pans when the horns and whistles were blown.**** I also spent time in the Yard Masters Tower at the Arsenal Street bridge, and the Office close to the south end of the Yard as the Trains passed by either leaving or entering from the Wabash Ave trestle.**** So I have a lot of childhood memories.**** I am now retired.****
