Just discovered this site while looking for pictures of the Frisco station at Tower Grove. I am a just a railfan not an expert on technical details or into models. Came by it honestly having grown up watching the Wabash freight trains pass my house with high frequency during the 50's and 60's. I lived on the St. Louis to Kansas City line not too far from the Luther Yard in the Baden area. In fact the Wabash had the Baden Station just across from where i lived. This is a great site, love all the pictures.

Terry, by all means, Welcome Aboard. We have a lot to share here. Be sure to ask questions if they arise; we have a lot of very knowledgeable people on-board.

Running a couple of weeks behind my timetable authority, Terry, and just saw your intro. Welcome...

We're a varied, motley lot. Many different interests, background and knowledge levels. Lots to learn and hear from everyone. Since I moved to Columbia 24 years ago, I've tried to pick up a little here and there about the Wabash. Still learning. :)

    Welcome Wabash Guy!

I have a few memories of the Wabash from the North KC area! I also remember when N&W engines started showing up. Boo! Hiss! (Only kidding.)

    Terry -
Also, welcome to frisco.org. A great group.
I am a bit of a Wabash fan as it was "our" railroad growing up in University City - my dad was a big "Follower of the Flag". We watched the Wabash often, and rode it down to Union Station several times. One of my very earliest memories was going over to Delmar Station with him and then riding one of the cross-Missouri streamliners down to Union Station. I also recall we rode streetcars on the way back home.
He built houses and later was an industrial real estate appraiser, and did a lot of work for the Wabash/N&W/NS through the years. He also appraised the Eads Bridge twice as Metrolink was being conceived! I still have his copies of those appraisals.
