My great grandfather Johann worked on the Pacific RR and then on the T & P. My grandfather Bud and father Jack both worked for the Frisco - my grandfather was at Paola, KS his entire career and was a long standing member of the ORT. My father was a key-pounder/agent at Sarcoxie, Monett, Fredonia, and Severy. He then became the General Agent at 7th Street in St. Louis and moved to Springfield when Frisco HQ moved there. He was Director of Industrial Engineering and managed several major projects including the development of the yards at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton, MO, Shrewsbury, MO, and Birmingham, AL. He took me to work with him whenever he could and by the time I was 4 I was handing up train orders, loading and unloading all manner of freight (the light stuff), counting the money at the end of the day, keeping the pot bellied stove full of coal in the winter, and so on. Anyway, glad to be aboard. I had no idea this Web site was here. Please visit mine, which is under construction at http://www.perkplace.com. I will definitely put a link to this site on mine and load some pictures as I have the time.
Roy: Welcome to the group! Do you by any chance have any photos of when your great grandfather worked on the RR, especially in Severy and Fredonia? Bob Hoover FriscoFriend
