My name is Leslie Wilson and I'm live in Grandview, MO. My Great Grandfather Aretas Driskill worked for Frisco starting sometime in late 1907, and we show him listed as a Bridge and Building Foreman in 1929. I'm just looking for more information and maybe some pictures to go with the stories we have heard over the years.

Leslie, welcome aboard. It has been my experience this board has much to offer on a number of topics.
Another source, Frisco Employee Cards, does not list your grandfather but the reason may be he was not working for the Frisco when Social Security System and Railroad Retirement System became mandatory in the mid 1930's.
The KC,C & S RR also ran through Grandview during the 1929 period and later lost its identify to the Frisco.
A Clyde Driskill, date of birth 1/9/07 address 5639 S 27th St Terr KCMO is listed. This might be a relative, of even your ggf?
Thee are some other Driskolls listed but they are in Oklahoma.
    Good luck!

There are mentions of him in the employee magazines that are searchable at the Springfield library site,

    http://thelibrary.springfield.missouri.org/lochist/frisco/magazines/magazines.cfm

He is identified as A. Driskill in a meeting of the Frisco Employes' Club in Cold Springs, OK, March 26, 1928, with 30 attending.

"A. Driskill, B. & B. foreman, Enid was made chairman of the meeting as a mark of courtesy."

In July of 1928, he is listed as having served twenty years and 8 months with the Frisco. That would put him starting around November 1907, matching your information.

His occupation is listed as Bridge Foreman R.R. in the censuses of Enid, OK, in 1920 (age 52) and 1930 (age 62). In 1900, age 32, he is listed as a farmer in Livingston County, KY , married 13 years, and in 1910 his occ was House Carpenter in the City of Enid, OK.

I didn't find any photos, but If you search enid and "b. and b." or some of the other names from from that department, you may find eventually come across some that are at least from that location and time period.

    Congratulations on joining this group.

    Thanks all,

    Peddling Joe and George,
Thanks for the information, I knew a little of it but not all.
I do have a few pictures from his time with the railroad I want to share as soon as I can figure out how and where to post them.
Mostly depot building and moving and some other random work picts.

    Hi Leslie,

Welcome aboard. It would be fun seeing the photos once you learn how to upload them. It's not difficult. I'm no techie and figured it our pretty easily. My grandfather also worked for the Frisco, but a subsidiary named the Quanah Acme & Pacific. He was a lineman for most of his career.
