You may wonder what a resident of the Northern California Redwood Coast is doing with the Frisco. I have been a railfan, and HO modeler, from childhood, primarily modeling Southern Pacific/Pacific Electric and Santa Fe. . Well, in 1979 I was visiting in Maplewood and a few blocks away I saw a yard full of Mandarine and White diesels--Lindenwood--and I was hooked, and soon began adding Frisco models to my ensemble. I modeled both the Mandarine and White era and the era of Racehorse E Units and passenger trains such as the Meteor--the latter primarily heavily kit bashed Concor cars, all that was readily available at that time. Alas, a move necessitated a drastic reduction in my fleet, and I now have very little Frisco rolling stock left--but my fascination with the Frisco has never really waned. Tom Cockle McKinleyville CA
Welcome, Tom - your name sure looks familiar. Were you around the frisco.org site in its earlier versions or maybe the old FMIG newsletter days? Finally got to visit California a year and a half ago and it was well worth the wait. We didn't make it any farther north of a Yosemite-to-Monterrey (sp?) line, but it was well worth the wait. I still can't decide if I enjoyed the mountains, the beach or the desert the best. Best Regards,
Welcome aboard Tom! Anybody that likes The Meteor is more than welcome in this group. Do you have a copy of the TRRA HS book on No's 9 & 10? Excellent. If you want one, you must hurry as they are approaching a sold out status. Ken
