For those who use WS blended turf or a similar "sprinkle on" product for a base ground cover, what kind of adhesive do you use? The one and only time I applied ground cover, I painted "the ground" with Elmer's glue, sprinkled on the turf material, and delicately vacuumed up any loose material with a hose. Some folks use a spray form of craft adhesive but I want more precise control of the coverage area. Has anyone ever used the wide Elmer's glue sticks to glue down sprinkled turf? - Brandon

Usually ground turf is applied to wet base paint on the table top.

You can mix water and white glue and paint it on the surface to be landscaped, then just sprinkle the material over it. However, the water/glue mixture should not be as thin as that used to glue down ballast.

When I installed ground foam on my layouts

First I applied about one foot square area with latex paint.

Second while the paint is still wet apply sifted real dirt.

Third using a 16oz spray bottle make a 50/50 mix of water/glue by putting two drops of dish soap in 8oz water and the remaining volume white glue. Then spray the area with your water/glue mix until it's slightly moist and let it dry. Go to the other side of your layout and repeat steps one thru three.

Fourth after the third step is dry apply a 50/50 mix of water/alcohol until the area is damp and spread medium green ground foam. Then spray the area with your water/glue until it's damp and let dry. Also do the other side of your layout.

Step five repeat step four with light green ground foam.

Finally touch up any areas you don't like.
By working both sides of your layout it will speed up the ground cover process because you now have four areas to work on.
