I just read this on "Loco Notes". Anyone have information on it?

"I remember reading in a book that at least one of the former SLSF "torpedo boat" GP35's got retrofitted with type B trucks - apparently a shop swap with one of its non torpedo sisters built with said trucks. I cannot find any pictures or the number of this alleged unit - anyone know? Would make a neat modeling project."

I don't have the book handy right at the moment, but I believe Marre's "Frisco Diesel Power" mentions that GP-35's 725-732 used trade-in Alco FA trucks.

Tom .. That is correct - however - the posting indicated that possibly one of the "torpedo" models may have been placed on B type trucks.

Take a look at the GP35 thread- there is a photo or 2 of the geeps with the Alco trucks.

Too bad there weren't any black and yellow GP-35's with FA trucks.
