G'day Frisco folks, Kelly Loyd from Lakelands (near Newcastle, New South Wales) Australia. Just introducing myself to the forum.

I was born and raised in St. James, MO, just a block and a half from the Frisco Cuba Sub mainline. I have been living in Australia since 1982, married a nice Aussie Girl and settled down here.

I have many fond memories of hearing the Frisco horn at the out of town crossing when my brother and I would sprint the block and a half to the railroad tracks in time to see the orange and white diesels power by.

I think thats where it all began. Later, I began going to work with my Grandfather in Kansas City, on the Milwaukee Road. He was the 2nd trick operator at West Wye Tower, near Front Street and I-435. I learned the ropes from him and when I was out of High School, I signed on with The Milwaukee Road in 1980. For two and a half years, I worked for The Milwaukee Road as a relief operator, then when he retired, as the permanent 2nd Trick Operator at West Wye, until I resigned in June 1982.

I built a model railroad back in 2003 and it has become the 'Kansas City Subdivision' of The Milwaukee Road. It features interchange traffic with BN, ATSF, KCS and The Frisco. Full details are at the Web Site: http://www.users.on.net/kelly.loyd

You can see a Milwaukee Road manifest and a Frisco transfer operate to CTC rules on the CTC page.

Well, see ya around on the Frisco Library.
    Cheers,
    Kelly
