Attached are eight images of tie replacement on the 700 foot long Trestle No. 1 at Winslow, AR. The last image shows the removed ties stored at downtown Winslow. The ties are of pine and each has a small aluminum dic with a letter. Many seemed to have the letter "N" so I guess they are a bridge trestle equivalent of date nails once found on crossties. The red truck suggests the work is being done by a contractor rather than the A & M itself. The current trestle was built in 1907. In one of the images you can see the small stonework that supported the bents of the first Trestle No. 1 built of iron in 1882 by the Delaware Bridge Company.
