Frisco train handling instructions April 1944, January 1951 and June 1955, the steam to diesel transition era.

Sherrel, the April 1944 manual has some brake diagram "foldouts" in the back which may contain some of the brake diagram information that you are looking for. They didn't unfold well and much of the scan was out of focus. I went back and rescanned them with a piece of cardboard for weight, but the results aren't a lot better. I guess in hindsight I should have weighted them with a dictionary or something.

John, I am unbelievably giddy over the 1944 brake diagrams. I think these are a must-have for anyone who's trying to model an era long before their time. I will have to keep this one close to the workbench - many thanks!

    Best Regards,

I have never had more trouble scanning anything than I had with those diagrams. Between their size and "slickness" and a host of other problems, I never did get a good copy. One effort that I made was using a length of 2X4 lumber as a weight (covering with a bath towel to block the extra light). The focus was a little better but I never could keep the pages located correctly on the scanner bed. Here's how that set of scans came out. Maybe you can salvage something of use from them.

    Look pretty good to me?
    Thanks for the added effort.
