Craig, I am not sure if it still there but someone posted a Richard Napper Picture on here in the Albums of the FRISCO/ MKT depot in Durant Oklahoma. Then in FRISCO TX there is the Museum unless it hasn't moved from Dallas yet. There is a 4-8-4 at the museum. I aint sure what the name of the museum is. Maybe someone can help us out with that.

  3. The American Age of Steam is the name. It is in Frisco TX now I visited it last month on the band trip to Dallas with the Alma, AR Airedale Marching Band. Best trip ever got to see two Frisco steamers and got 1st place in the band competiton!!!! Plus Six Flags which had an old narrow gauge steamer(Shame how the cartoonized a caboose and a few passenger cars). In Tyler there is a lot of old Cotton Belt stuff still there. It you look carefully you can see alot of Katy ROW following the hyw thru Dallas. :)
    Shiup it on the Frisco!!!

The Durant depot is long gone. However, I think the Antlers depot is still there.

If you're into railroad archaeology, you can find the abandonded original alignment prior to Lake Texoma at Platter. You can actually drive the old roadbed from "downtown" Platter right into the lake.

The Frisco yard in Sherman is still basically intact, although the only remaining Frisco building is a work shed in a fenced in area next to aptly named Frisco Road.

My ususal route from Ft. Smith would be thru Poteau, Wister, Wilburton, etc., to McAlester. Then you can take US 69 all the way to Tyler from there. Much of the US 69 trip will be along former MKT lines from McAlester to Greenville.

From Greenville to Mineola, you can still spot the ROW of the former MKT Mineola line along the way, but you gotta keep an eye peeled.
