That was cool! How did you get the birds flying by at the end?

First of all, this is not my layout or You Tube. I suggest go on You Tube and search in Frisco 1950 and you will see who produced this video. He did an outstanding job on scenery and production of this video and has others as well, such as Phoebe Snow. I did not search this, it just came up when I clicked on You Tube. I was totally surprised and very fond of it especially because its FRISCO! I took the initiative and post in our forum.

It even has a B&O Pullman the way the Meteor or Texas Special might have had! Well done, indeed. Thanks for sharing.

Wonder what scale? I'm guessing they're the HO Overland models?? Those models are in first born child price range. I wish Kato would produce an affordable Texas Special!!

Took me a few seconds to realize that it was a model. The lack of any Pullman green heavyweights at all in the consist - especially on the head-end - gave it away. But still, what a sight!

Thanks for the heads-up and for sharing, John - nice way to call it a day.

    Best Regards,

Yes, very nice. Good looking train, wasn't it?

Add a few of heavyweight baggage cars in olive green and you have it nailed. No HW RPO needed - 251 and 252 filled that need. (I assume you are modeling The Meteor rather than the Texas Special. The Frisco TS RPO was 250)

It its day, The Meteor was the longest train to use St Louis Union Station. Caused the TRRA no end of headaches.

The models are 1/32 scale. Is it 45 mm Number One gauge track?

In the video section, the very last one "Behind the scenes" explains a lot, not all.

Power packs can deliver 15 Amps at 20-24 volts. Car lighting uses electroluminescent panels with custom circuitry to deliver constant brightness without flickering.

(Edited quote) "We welcome inquiries from cinematographers who would like to use our layout in films. We can recreate any year in the northeast between 1925-1970 in precise and historically accurate details."

A 2013 Forbes magazine article places this railroad at the home of John H. Scully, of SPO Advisory group, in East Hampton, NY.

    Anybody know more?
