After seeing all the talk about KU it makes me want to ask you this: "Rick, do I have to take off my Missuou hoddy at the door?"

One advantage of Mu over KU is MU uses Frisco colors Black and Gold/Yellow.:p

It's been quite a while since I've been Amened (sp?). Let me know when you are in KC Doug. Let's operate.

Ethan you can wear your MU stuff at my crib. You and your family are my guests. BTW we are very civilized in Kansas and we have had all our shots. Just ask yardmaster Chris Abernathy. He wore his MU sweater at the March op session. I think there is a photo of him wafting through this website somewhere . . . . .

Before you pick a college, let's talk.

My wife and I are still good friends with Rick and Jo even though I tease them with pictures of her with her arm around people like this!

Do I hear "Sit down, Norm" echoing around somewhere?

Ethan, I will vouch for Rick's hospitality. The Frisco and model railroading most definitely bridges the gap between the MU-KU rivalry (admittedly it was a bit cheeky of me to break out the Tiger wear).

And echoing Doug's amen, even without the layout having track, my son is already interested in making sure that it's "fun to run."

    Best Regards,

Personally, I always thought football was just a way for KU to kill time until basketball season came along.......

And I went to high school in a town in Oklahoma 15 miles south of Miami (pronounced mi-am-muh by the locals), and everyone there pronounced that state east of Quapaw as missouruh.

    Hey, potato, potahtoh.......................;)

I was in Lawrence over Thanksgiving (and Arrowhead on Saturday, too :( )

Next time I'm in town, can I come play? Next visit will probably be in July.

Gary, let Rick know in advance when you will be in town and I'm sure he will try to accomodate.

As a member of the Frisco |-| Nation, with all the rights and priviledges attached thereto, you are welcome to come and operate the Northern Division. As Keith sez, just let me know when you are coming in advance and we can get a session going.

The Northern Division operates rather frequently. My final session for 2009 will be this Saturday and will be #27 for the year. My goal was twice a month and this year, for the first time, we achieved and surpassed the goal. I believe that model railroads are built to operate, not to be a static display.

Are you still running 1950's, or converted to the more modern era.

Good to hear from you even though you are only across town.

The session this Saturday is the last 1950 session until 1-1-2011. I will pull out the late 1970's equipment between Christmas and New Years to facilitate the first 1970s session since Dec 2007. I am planning on the first 1970s session in mid Jan. I want to get a LOT of benchwork done between now and Jan 15. The goal is remains 24 sessions (minimum) in 2010.

I will be sure to bring my new mike with me. Should I bring my O/W power for laughs and giggles?:p

I understand from this quote that you are operating late 1970's for the whole of 2010. And then in 2011 it will be back to the 50's?

Do you change any buildings etc?

I'm sorry if I missed the info on this but could you elaborate a bit on how you do this, or is just simply a case of running the late 70's equipment? :)
