While it was a given that Denison, TX "belonged" to the Katy, what Frisco freight activity took place there? Anything beyond the freight house on East Main St? Seems I read someplace that the SP and the Frisco had a freight train that they handed over to each other in Denison at one time?
I have not had a chance to really get down and read the new Signature Press book on the SP´s Texas and New Orleans (T&NO). There is probably mention of an SP-Frisco run through freight if it was ever operated, be it a test run to see if it would be feasible, or if it made the ETT as a scheduled run. The T&NO did lease four Frisco 4-8-2s in the late 1940s. A picture is included in the book. Joe Toth
