Here are four more pictures from my "Enid" negative collection.

These are SLSF GP7s in the Mandarin orange and white paint scheme.

    SLSF 501, EMD GP7, 1500 HP, delivered 2/19/1950
    SLSF 515, EMD GP7, 1500 HP, delivered 7/5/1950
    SLSF 526, EMD GP7, 1500 HP, delivered 11/10/1950
    SLSF 611, EMD GP7, 1500 HP, delivered 1/17/1952

Note that SLSF 501 carries a Nathan horn, not the Frisco favorite Leslie.

SLSF 611 still has its steam generator in service. Note the boiler exhaust stack on the short hood and the steam line connection pipe on the front face of the locomotive pilot.

    Very nice photographs Ken.

Thanks for posting all the Enid ones you have in your files.

Although not as pretty as a color photographs, my dog thinks they are great. :D

The black and white ones many times show fine detail better than color,

    And I like that.

    Ken,

    Neat pictures.

I have read of the GP7s keeping the steam exhaust stack even after the boilers were removed.

I have never noticed the steam lines, though.

Now I am wondering if these were left on even after the innards were modified?

Regardless, yet another little fun detail to be modeled!

    Best Regards,

    Chris,

I do not know for sure, but I would think once the boiler was removed, the steam line connections on each pilot face would be removed as well.

    Anybody know otherwise?

Here is another Mandarin orange and white Frisco GP7 picture from my "Enid" negative collection.

This image shows SLSF 611 coupled up to a Jordan ditcher spreader SLSF 99102.

The GP7 was a master of almost any task!
