Here is a view looking railroad west.

Train order board governs movements on the Carthage Subdivision.

Edit 3/25/2024. Pierce City, MO is the junction point for the Carthage Subdivision with the Cherokee Subdivision.

The depot was located along and faced the Cherokee Subdivision. The Carthage Subdivision connecting turnout was approximately one quarter mile to the west of the depot.

The Carthage Subdivision was dark territory dispatched by Time Table and Train Orders (TTTO). Note the train order signal in this view of the depot only has one active blade and light, for westbound traffic.

The train order signal for eastbound traffic has been retired and is no longer in use. The colored roundel spectacles and the blade have been removed. They are no longer in place for that direction.

The Cherokee Subdivision was dispatched by Centralized Traffic Control (CTC). This provides some additional detail and helps explain Karl's comment above about the train order signal.

    Pierce City, MO. :)

Within the last 5 years this town had a tornado come through and almost leveled it.

There is a new city hall built to resemble a depot near the spot of the old depot.

A bit old time, but glad to hear that Pierce City is rebuilding.

We had some pretty seasoned claims veterans who went there in 2003 and were quite stunned by the damage they saw.

    Thanks for the update.
