Who's in? The A&M is having a company picnic on the 13th... but the wife and I are discussing skipping it and going to the 1st ANNUAL FRISCO CONVENTION instead! So... Who all is going? Guess you could say wife and I are a "Definite Maybe". Andre Ming Poteau, OK
I will be there. I know that Katy Slug, MVtelegrapher,Richard Napper and Rick McClellan from this group will be there also. We presently have 19 persons signed up to come. Bob Wintle MMR Frisco Convention Registar
I am in. Going to present a clinic on operations on the Frisco Northern Divison in my basement. Hope someone has a projector . . . . Think I will bring some 35mm slides for Friday night viewing too. Ship IT on the Frisco! Rick
Rick, I will be borrowing our company computer projector from our IT dept and it will be available all weekend. I'm even going to try and convince one of the IT guys to come down Saturday in case we need any help on the techinical side. I will also have a 35mm projector available. John Chambers
John: Be sure that you get written instructions on the correct way to turn the unit off. At the MCoR Convention one of the projectors was not turned off in the correct manner and a bulb was ruined. They are quite expensive. Better safe than sorry. The head count for the convention is now up to 20. Bob
Reminder: To get the motel room rate discounts you have to make your reservations by Wednesday August 12th. and mention the Frisco Festival. John Chambers Meet Chairman
Okay... wife and I are in. We won't be staying for the psgr train ride on Sunday, instead we'll be leaving that morning for the A&M company picnic at Mountainburg, AR. Reckon' I need to make motel reservations and fill out a form, huh? See ya'll at Pittsburg! Andre
Guys and Gals: The Get together is fast approaching. It will be a week from this Saturday. So far we have 40 persons signed up and to be honest I thought there would be more. A few folks on the site have registered and some that I had hoped would be there have not. I surely hope that you are able to attend. I am going to be sending a list of those who have registered to the Pittsburg Convention Bureau to have name tags made this next Tuesday. It would be nice to have as a momento of the event so if you haven't sent in your registration and are considering attending please do. Doing so would really help those of us working the event not have to spend so much time at the registration table. Another point is that if you do preregister you will save $5.00. At the door registrations and any recieved after next Tuesday will be $25.00. I am very much looking forward to this event and hope to see many of you there. Sorry Can't make it. Got band that day. Wish I really could sound like fun. Maybe I could make it to the 2nd annual Frisco Convention. Ship it on the Frisco!!! Murphy Millican
Someone else will have to do the next one, if the turnout ends up being this small then I'm not interested in doing it again. John Chambers Meet Chairman
Eathan: That is great, I was really hoping that you would have your farm work caught up and be able to attend. You will learn alot about your favorite road. Best of all you are going to meet some pretty good modelers and some really knowledgeable people. These are just two more good reasons to attend. See you there. Bob
maybe more would have attended if it would have been more centralized like some where in oklahoma for example
Sorry I kinda forgot to register...duh. The check is in the mail tomorrow. Count me in for one swap table too please. Dale Rush Blair Line LLC Carthage, MO
Dale: That is great! My whole intention of reminding everyone to preregister is purely selfish on my part. I want to be able to have fun and enjoy the convention and not have to set at the registration table. I hope everyone understands. I look forward to seeing you. Please bring some of your products to sell and show off. Your stuff is great. In fact they helped me to achieve my Master Builder scenery certificate for my MMR. See you at the convention. Ship It on the Frisco Bob
I regret that I won't be there. Soccer season for my daughter starts that weekend! Perhaps I'll try to put down some subroadbed on our Northern Division in honor of the meet. Best Regards,
