Frisco cabooses in California?

As I browsed the latest issue of Classic Trains, Summer 2016, I noticed a familiar sight at the bottom of page 66.

It shows a steam locomotive on a caboose hop on Santa Maria Valley (SMV) Railroad, and the 2 yellow cabooses look like they were originally of Frisco origin.

Edit 4/22/2024: The cabooses in the photograph are SMV 180 and SMV 190. The are definitely former Frisco cabooses.

SMV 180 has been restored for that line and is at the Santa Marie Valley Museum.

Unfortunately, SMV 190 has been destroyed.

To date we have not been able to determine the former Frisco caboose numbers.

They are ex Frisco wood cupola cabooses.

I know they had at least two of them.

I think I read where they just did a restoration on one of them.

    Classic Frisco.

    Thanks for the verification, Don.

Also, on the bottom of page 68 there is a photograph of Frisco locomotive 4-4-0 SLSF 185.
