Hey Y'all, I don't know if any of y'all have seen this, but if you do a search on eBay for "Frisco Brass", you will find all the individual passenger cars, along with the six car set, and the matching E8's for the set. I know they seem a little expensive, but maybe someone here is interested. Just a heads up. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the train. Ugh! Manny
HO scale? Or other? Would the train be The Meteor? Texas Special? The brand: Hallmark? Overland? Or how about copying and pasting the eBay number? Tom
HO SCALE. They are the Texas Special. There are a few METEOR CARS available too. Hallmark. Here is the link for you: Click Here
That's a real nice set of equipment. Those cars and the slightly nicer, but exorbitantly priced Overland sets are about as close as Frisco modelers are ever going to get to the "real" Meteor and Teaxs Special! Tom
First post to the Frisco Modelers Group I would like to thank FriscoMike for two lessons at the TWMRC were we are both members on how to use this cite and information on building a "Black Gold" trainset. Second I bought the Texas Special six car set and one pullman that were advertised on ebay. Maybe between Mike and I we can get a complete" Texas Special "train on the TWMRC layout and get pictures posted. I dare say you have to love the Frisco if you want to model it as to-date it is the most expensive of my passenger train purchases. I am modeling passenger trains that passed through Texas in the DFW area in the 1948 time period. This was the last hold out to complete the working collection and in a moment of weakness I hurried up the end process. The train will run on the TWMRC as I do believe in playing with toys or as some call them "SPR" scale prototype replicas and not just collecting them. thanks for the post time mktjames
Howdy James, Glad you finally posted. I picked up the Hallmark E-7's and wonder if they will pull the six car set. I haven't heard a brass diesel in years, so I bet these howl. The shell looks decent. I'll see on receipt. Congrats on the set, the price looked pretty good. If I didn't have the money reserved for the oh so late U30B's, I'd have had run at the Pullmans, too. Best, mike
So I take it y'all snagged the Frisco sets I reported. If so, good show. Please post up pics. I'd love to see them! If anyone is looking for a Frisco brass item, let me know. I constantly check brass listings. I'll be happy to report. Manny
Will do! No problem. I enjoy helping y'all out with your collections. I've just started flirting with the brass. It's still a little too expensive for me other than a caboose here or there, or a tender (within reason). I realize that if I'm going to have actual Frisco prototypes in steam, I'm going to have to get brass. No way around it.
Texas Special coaches 1 and 2 are still available. No other listings other than some steam at this time. Y'all wiped him out!!!!
Manny, thanks for posting the link. @Terry, I've had pretty good luck on eBay by searching for Frisco brass or Texas Special Brass or Meteor Brass. Those phrases seem to work most of the time. I'll post pics when I get the locos. Best, mike
