I recently listed my PFM sound system on ebay and was digging engines out of boxes to remove the modules/speakers from them and unearthed my little 728 which I made out of a PFM Northern Pacific 4-6-0. I'm trying to take pictures of all my motive power and have included this one.

Very nice Don--I still think you should take a picture of all your engines grouped aound a roundhouse or staged like one of Winfield's paintings. Maybe sell copies as a poster. I'd buy one...

Maybe when I get off of dead center and actually get my layout going, I will gather a bunch of them around the Newburg roundhouse and take some pix. I keep creeping closer. I have bought a big load of track and switches from a friend who had been stockpiling over the years for a layout he isn't going to build and last week traded a couple of paint jobs for a Digitrax package that my neighbor bought some years ago and never used. I'm about to run out of excuses.

    Howdy Don,

I notices your bell ropes look very nice. May I ask what size and type of wire you use for the bell rope? I recently purchased some stainless steel wire (.012) for use with .018 pipe and thought it might also work for bell ropes. It is stainless steel so not sure how paint will adhere to it.

    Best Regards,
    mike

I've been using .008 soft brass wire for bell and whistle cords for a long time. .006 would be a good size also.
