General Motors (GM) Electro Motive Division (EMD) SD40-2s - Frisco’s Small Fleet Reasoning - Inquiry

I read somewhere that Frisco ordered their strangely small batch of SD40-2s for coal train that never ended up materializing.

Is this true?

If so, where was this coal train supposed to originate and terminate?

Also, what did the Frisco end up doing with the SD40-2s if the coal service never panned out?
