FMIG trophy

  1. Not really sure where to put this, but here goes. This is not really FRISCO memorabilia but a second cousin. This is a trophy from the FMIG convention in 1981 in St Louis. Anybody else still got one? I really don't remember if there was trophies at any other convention. I took models to a couple but don't think there was any other contests? But that was a while ago. HA

Steve, now I'm curious to know which of your models garnered the trophy.

    Best Regards,

I hosted the 1981 FMIG meeting at the Holiday Inn in St Louis, but darned if I remember who won what in the model contest. Anyway, congrats again!

Steve - It was a long time ago indeed. So long ago, the Holiday Inn we held the meet at is long gone ...... torn down.

My favorite memory was the Lindenwood visit. We had a tour of the yard, and we got into the diesel shop among other things. Also I recall meeting up with Doug at Lambert, a memorable pre-meet evening at Don & Rosie Wirth's home, Joe's presentation and movies at the dinner, and a nice gathering at the NMoT on Sunday. I recall Lee Buffington and Arthur Johnson ringing 1522's bell up in the cab at the NMoT - one of them had tears in his eyes (Arthur I think). That was before 1522 was restored. Also somewhere in there was a nice dinner among the FMIGer's at the Red Lobster in Crestwood.

Wow! 35 years ago! Time flies.

    Ken
