When the Firefly's cars were first rebuilt for that service they had the ends that would couple to another car squared off and equipped with full-width diaphragms. At some point the full-width diaphragms were removed and the cars continued in service with conventional narrow ones. Does anyone know when this modification occurred? The diagrams of the cars that are in the Forum files show the FWD's. Normally if a modification is made to a car a notation is made on the diagram, but there are no such notes on any of these. Any ideas?

Some of those original cars (The coaches and RPO-baggage-coach combines) ran way up in the diesel era with the full diaphragms. The combines never did have the diaphragms removed.
