    Howdy,

Last night during an operating session, I noticed how smoothly a brace of T&P F3's ran. I asked the owner how he got them to perform so well over some track which hadn't been cleaned yet. He said they were all wired together. He had connected the right rail pickups together and had done the same for the left rail.

I'm building an Alco ABA set from the Proto 2000 FA model. Has anyone wired them together like the T&P set? Did you have to modify the frame to allow wires to snake around the shell? I plan on using miniature plugs to connect the locos.

    Best regards,
    mike

Mike, the wires that come on the Miniatronics 1.5v 30ma 1.2mm bulbs are just size you need. Or you could use what the electronics industry commonly calls wire-wrap prototyping wire - Kynar wire. I use it a lot since it will fit in tight spaces and is manageable. I use Kapton tape to secure it in place so it won't foul the driveline. TCS and others sell Kapton tape and the high numerical gauge wire (~30-34).

    Howdy Keith,

Thanks for the help. I was using wires that are too heavy. This was helpful.

    Best regards,
    mike
