As many of you have read I model the Colorado Kansas & Western, a fictional road that bought some Frisco trackage and motive power in the BN merger.

Well here is my latest work, an ex-Frisco GP38AC. I have weathered and painted out the Frisco marks in preparation for my CKW patches. I still have some touch ups to do (was lazy and didn't remove the handrails, and got some black paint on them - oops), but she is almost there.

Please don't hate me for desecrating the Frisco...think of it as my own, weird way, of paying homage.

Why would you want to ruin a perfectly good Frisco GP38 diesel? Just kidding, looks good, but a bit sad without the coonskin logo.

Anything is better than the "Big Nothing"! I like the creativaty, I will be modeling the arkansas and ozarks railroad as it might have appeared in the early 70's, there will be several frisco loco's interchanging in seligman of course! Oh and all you old heads remember all those frisco pool cabooses running down to harrison and back........if only!

I like the idea, Matt. Great job on weathering it, too. Just to add some variety, if you were to detail another Frisco model like this, maybe you could leave the FRISCO lettering on the sides of the long hood, and stencil CK&W under the cab windows with some new numbers, similar to what UP has done with it's inherited Southern Pacific locomotives. Again, great looking model.

I am going to have 2 more Frisco GP38's and a pair of Frisco GP15's on the roster, and I had planned on patching them kind of randomly. I was going to leave a couple of them with Frisco still on the long hood.

Beats the Bad News any day, if ya ask me.............

But it's all good- kinda reminds me of the patched rent-a-wrecks I see at trackside.

And wait & see what I do with a BN SD45........................:D:D:D:D

I don't want to ruin a perfectly good shell- I just want to do something similar to what C&NW did with secondhand SDs they got from BN.

Gonna work on 2 more Frisco GP38's this evening I believe. These 2 will not have near as heavy weathering, and I think I may leave the FRISCO on the long hoods!

Here's the first 2 of 3 ex-Frisco GP38AC's my Colorado Kansas & Western owns. They are almost done - still need to do the # boards and a few small things here and there. The 2nd unit is so dirty because my road pools power with the DRGW on some of it's trains.

    Here's some shots.

Can relate to what you are doing as I too have a Short Line, the "Missouri. Lake Ozark, & Southern" (M,Lo&S) besides my Frisco. So please before you send up any Athearn SD45s in Frisco colors for like sales let me know if I might have anything can offer you for trade. I offer low if not no mileage, many undecorated 1st & 2nd generation diesel, never operated save maybe on Sunday by a healthy sized school teacher with a deep voice.

And if is too late for you to "Ship it on the Frisco!" try the "Dogwood Route" we cheap! Easy to find at the Harrisonville Rail Head & Harvey House! Don't Blink!
