I have a brass 2-8-4 Berkshire that was modeled after ones used by the Nickel Plate road. (page 90 of the hard back model railroader cyclopedia vol 1 steam locomotives) this is a locomotive that was passed down from family and I am reworking it now and was wondering if there were any frisco engines that looked close and if so what #'s and does anyone have photo's.
    Thanks
    Matt

No Berkshires on the Frisco. Missouri Pacific had a few.

Did Don Wirth mention something about a 4200 having been rebuilt as a 2-8-4 -- only used briefly on mineral lines around Birmingham and never photographed??? Oh, wait a minute, it's only November.

I didn't know that MP had any. I thought it was only NPK, C&O, Pere Mequeet, and ATSF. I think that if the frisco had a Berk, it would be well known.

The MP's, Lima-built, 1901-1925 class 2-8-4's were converted into 4-8-4's by the Sedalia shops during 1940-1942

Per Gordon's recollection, I have no doubt that the Frisco shops in Pacific, converted a 4200 into a 2-8-4. The shop foreman there was well known for his penchant for experimentation.

A photo will no doubt turn-up.

I learn more and more every day about the frisco. I will have to remember this.
