There was a bridge that crossed the Whitewater River on the western edge of Delta, MO. It had rough cut stone abutments on each end. I am not sure what kind of deck it had but the abutment on the east side has just been totally demolished into rubble. I stopped and took photos of the remaining western end just have a record of it. I slipped through the snow and got ripped to shreds in the briars to get these shots. Winter is prime time for subjects that are usually covered by weeds in the summer.
I'm sure I remember it being there into the early seventies. I remember it as a steel, through-truss type bridge, much like the one that crossed the Diversion Channel near Cape, although one section. It looked a lot like the one at Poplar Bluff. http://www.frisco.org/vb/showpost.php?p=9799&postcount=21 And the one at Rombauer. http://bridgehunter.com/mo/stoddard/indian-ford/
