I know that the Katy worked some industries on "Cooper's Lead" in Kansas City. Did the Frisco work it, too? My guess is that it got its name from a barrel company that must have been there at one time -- probably a maker of beer kegs. Is this correct?

None of the Katy guys here in KC know where the trackage got its appellation (their speculation is that "Cooper" may have been a civil engineer for the Katy), but it was the southern end of the Katy's mainline in the KC area and their Glen Park Yard. Between the south end of Cooper's lead and Paola the Katy ran on Frisco mainline. The Frisco did not switch any industries on Cooper's lead. KY Tower (under Frisco control) guarded the Frisco Main from the Katy.
