I finally have track on wood and two Walther's Lakeside terminals to kitbash a fair representation of the Frisco freight house under 12th street viaduct. It's not much, but it's a start. After a lot of years of drawing track plans I've started. Thanks for all that have helped me with this project. John
Jim I don't know how much inspiration there is in some code 83 on top on a hollow core door with the sides of a Lakeside terminal laid next to it. But, there is inspiration in your Zalma branch and I've been waiting for more pics. They had me looking at Westerfield kits for awhile. Rick Yeah, those two reefers are on lend lease too somebody I know that acutally has a railroad. John
John, looking forward to updates! Congratulations on starting (I have decided that I am actively modeling the 1946 railroad strike, until I can actually get trains moving). Best Regards,
John, Let us know when you are ready to start looking at DCC systems. I know you have run Digitrax and maybe Easy DCC. If there are other systems you are interested in, I will invite us to some sessions with those systems. Let's get some trains running on that track you have down. Congrats on the good start. Getting started is the most difficult part and you are past that. Now figure out what you can do on it each week to make it better.
Chris, you made me laugh out loud! Thanks. John, I love those Westerfield kits and I'm going to order another wood gondola and build it as the coal version painted black. Maybe also another boxcar.
Chris- Good thing your not model the Toledo Peoria and Western. They had a strike in the 1940's and killed the president of the railroad. John
That's good to keep in mind, considering that we're starting to enter the "tween" years for my son/scale railroad business partner. I won't give him any ideas.
