I remember a boiler expolsion on the U.P. on the Marysville sub (Topeka to North Platte) where the boiler exploded. It was said that the boiler was found a quarter mile from the track. (An aside, the engineer and fireman was killed and the head brakeman (who was climbing over the tender) took 3 days to die after being scalded with live steam. I don't remember what kind of engine it was.
