Healthcare is a 24/7/365 industry, and this year I lucked out & had Christmas off. Unfortunately, this snowstorm (and the ice-covered streets down Sherman way) kept me here Christmas day watching "Mythbusters" reruns. Saturday I made it back to Sherman, and spent the rest of the holiday weekend with my family. Gifts were traded, a nice meal was eaten, and I was with the missus again.

I have to work New Year's Day and the following weekend, but it's all good. I've gotten out of partying New Year's Eve anyway, and all I want is a nice helping of black-eyed peas (the food, not the musical group).

Happy 2010, and high greens and clear track to one and all!

Thank you for the holidays you work, along everyone else who has to work some holidays, military... utilities... police... etc... I spent Christmas Eve 2008 in the emergency room (kidney stone). Very grateful for those working that night...

    Craig -
Not sure what it is with Christmas Eve and kidney stones. That happened to my father-in-law in 1993. He's pretty impervious to pain, but he sincerely thought he was dying! A memorable Christmas...but for the wrong reasons.

At any rate, I presume from your post that you are relatively better. Pace yourself!

    Best Regards,

My SECOND one (about 16 years, 3 months, 7 days, 5 hours, and 32 minutes ago) - I begged them at the hospital to kill me.

    I know the PAIN!

My dad didn't have kidney stones, he had (and still has) a hip problem

Not that it's a contest lol... but that was the 4th to cause problems. I knew it was there before hand from previous scans. I've had them since my teens, apparently I am a little pre-disposed to them and occasionally I don't drink enough water throughout the day which doesn't help. Most Americans don't drink enough fluids through out the day. My diet could be better.

Treatment-wise, I prefer lithotripsy, we won't talk about the after effects :)
