If any of you are into railroad oriented Christmas cards, I just received a catalog from Trumble Greetings, Inc, who usually offers several seasonal railroad cards utilizing artist renderings of various locomotives from various railroads. This year, among Trumbles' offerings is one utilizing Kevin Walsh's winter painting of a "FFF" 4500 just entering onto a trestle over a frozen body of water. It's not as good as a Howard Fogg painting, which Trumble has used a lot of, but I'll probably order a few. If interested, Trumble's number is 800-525-0656, and the card number is C73873. I think the price is 95c each, and the card comes with an envelope. FYI. K ps - There is also a KCS card, C71298, which looks to be two passenger trains side by side at a depot, one behind FM Erie-builts, the other behind EMD E's. Also another nice one, C73872, showing a matched set of Santa Fe ABBA F7 Warbonnets leading an ATSF streamliner. Other RR's represented are WM, GN, UP, NYC, SP, NH, and D&RGW, all in winter scenes.
I ordered some of Frisco and KCS, thanks for the referral. No doubt, Grandpa, Jackson worked on some of those, 42 years as a boliermaker. William Jackson
Speaking of Trumble Christmas cards - Does anybody enjoy USA narrow gauge winter art? I have 35 Trumble "Leanin' Tree" color Christmas cards I don't really want in my collection. Many of them are Howard Fogg art, others are equally nice from other artists. Trumble is a Colorado company, so narrow gauge is one of their favorites to use on their Christmas cards. Each card is of a very nice winter scene, is unfolded, mint, and comes with a white correct-sized envelope. These cards were obtained over the past several years; if still available from Trumble today, which many aren't, they retail for 95c each, plus shipping cost of $5.95 minimum depending on the amount ordered. See the attached pics for a couple of examples. There are a few duplicates, less than five, but the rest are single examples. If interested, I'll make you a great deal. I'll send them all (35) to you for $15.00; I'll pay the Priority Mail shipping ($5.75 in a flat Rate envelope). Let me know at meteor910@mindspring.com, or via a PM to meteor910. A personal check is OK from frisco.org members, or PayPal is OK as long as you use the friends option. I just want to get rid of them to someone who will enjoy them, or use them this December. Ken
