Case Steam Traction Engine Kit

    Thanks guys and thanks for the info. This model is so neat and I can't wait to build a scene for it. Not exactly sure but it will either power a backwoods saw mill or pull an old boxcar off to the farm to be used as a storage building. Now I wish I had another traction engine kit.

    Thanks, Sherrel. Now that's a true workhorse! Steam was king for sure.

    This is a picture of a threshing rig that belonged to my paternal grandpa and his brother. My grandpa is standing by the threshing machine, his brother is on the steam engine (an Advance-Rumely):

    Outstanding. There's just something about those old steam traction engines. So versatile and so many moving parts visible. Almost as cool as an old locomotive. Threshing time was certainly a busy labor intensive time! I've heard old timers call a huge meal, "big enough for a threshin'.

    So true .. I just wonder how they kept from burning up all their fields?

    They had an inverted cone shaped screen inside the stack to catch sparks.
