Hello Frisco Folks He are photographs that I came across of the Frisco depot in Carthage, MO. Take care, Rich Ship it on the Frisco!
Carthage, MO depot. Not the best quality image but it is color, sort of at least. Photograph dated 1970s.
Mark Davidson (mark) found the old Frisco depot's new location: 1201 E Chestnut, Carthage, MO. It was purchased, dismantled stone by stone, board by board and then re-assembled southeast of its original location. http://www.bing.com/maps/#JnE9eXAuM...uNDkzMjM3OTM0NTI0MjclN2UtMTQ0LjkyNjc3MzA3MTU= I hope to get some pictures of it and the caboose that are on the property tomorrow.
Keith, By the looks on Google Maps street view the depot must be on private property that is gated. I hope that you are able to get in to get the pictures. I am looking forward to you posting them. Bob
Bob is correct, the depot is on gated property and they are not very friendly. You could get some pictures from the road with a good telephoto lens. John Chambers
That is a shame to be that way. They could take a note from this guy! Be sure and look at the photographs. http://www.ocregister.com/news/train-174345-thagard-run.html
Well, here is what I was able to get today. It was raining pretty steadily so I did not spend much time looking. I hope to get some more on Sunday, if the weather co-operates. BTW, there is a caboose labeled Frisco on the property.
Just now dawned on me after all these years, that the Carthage depot was built of famous Carthage Limestone! Like their classic Jasper County courthouse. Tom
