Hello, A newbie here. I found something and was wanting to see if anyone else had ever seen such a thing. It is an 8 oz. tin can that says WATER FOR DRINKING PACKED FOR ST. LOUIS-SAN FRANCISCO RAILWAY CO. SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI 65802 Has anyone ever seen on of these cans of water before? Thanks, Leith
Absolutely, the canned water was provided on trains for the crews before bottled water was readily available. I still have some cans around somewhere from the 70s. Brett
Thanks Brett, There are some numbers stamped on the bottom ending in 65 which I thought may have been when it was canned. Would that sound about right to you mid to late 60's into the '70's? Leith
