This is one of the Frisco built wood cabooses with a vertical side, steel cupola. These cabooses were originally number with 2 or 3 digit numbers. After the acquisition of the 200 series all steel extended or wide vision cabooses in 1957, this car was demoted to local service. In 1968 all Frisco cabooses were renumbered to avoid conflict with locomotive numbers in a new computer system.

With the kind and gracious help of Tiana Fortney local resident and volunteer we have confirmed the road number of this caboose from a museum scrapbook newspaper article photograph.

The caboose was donated to the museum by a local resident in 1989. It had been located on the property of a local resident and used as a guest house. The former owner was a Creek County judge, Charles Woodson.

The caboose is on display at the Drumright Historical Society museum. The museum is based out of the 1915 Santa Fe depot. The car is located on the north side of the street, just southeast of the depot. Please see http://www.drumrighthistoricalsociety.org.

At this location there is also on display a Frisco passenger car single window coach, SLSF 1062. The coach sits northwest of the depot. It can be viewed from N. Harley St.

The address is 301 East Broadway, Drumright, OK 74030.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
