The caboose was constructed in 1927 by American car and Foundry (ACF) for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. On that line the caboose was numbered 1573. This is one of the former Santa Fe 1500 series cabooses.

The Frisco acquired this caboose 9/1969 and several others from the Santa Fe in the late 1960s to replace its older wood side cabooses. This caboose was designated for local service.

The caboose is located adjacent to the restored Louisville & Nashville (L&N) depot in Milton, FL. Milton is approximately 15 miles northeast of Pensacola, FL. The depot is owned by the Santa Rosa Historical Society and leased by the West Florida Railroad Museum, Inc. Please see http://www.wfrm.org/wfrmmain.html

The location address is 5003 Henry Street.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
