The railroads maintained reciprocal agreements with each with regard to issuing passes. This was especially true for those Frisco employees who might require a ride on a foreign line in order to reach a segment of the Frisco, which may have been isolated due to derailment or other circumstance. These are a handful of my Dad's passes that cover different segments of his career. Even though AMTRAK didn't operate over the Frisco, AMTRAK issue one to him. Spouses received a pass as well, and so my Mom had one too. On the reverse of all his Frisco passes was stamped, "Good on Engines and Freight Trains". When the Clinton Sub was abandoned between BV Junction and Dodson, the Frisco received trackage rights over the MP, and he had to be certified to operate a motorcar on the MP. Both of his motorcar certification cards are included.
What a wonderful collection! For both the family history and the Rail Fan interest. The Frisco passes are very neat with the "nine states" flags. Tom G.
I'm gonna write your spousal unit and ask her to request that you "organize" the den more often! You have been posting some great stuff.
