I stood out in the driveway this morning and watched the "after estate sale cleanup guys" load our entire layout, one piece, track and all, in a truck standing it up on its long side. This layout started in 1973 as Kurt's Christmas train layout board with a roughly 4' x 6.5' dimension. It grew in both directions a few times, but though bigger, remained basically a curved oval with a long passing siding and three yards, one inside the oval, two outside along one of the along sides. Very elementary compared to what many you guys have done.

Still, we had a lot of fun with it, and it ran some very nicely done models most of the time. I felt a little twinge of emotion, just as I did three weeks ago when I sold my beloved Audi A6 4.2 Sport. This full time Florida thing will be very nice for us, but it comes with a few small costs now and then.

So be it. My God, I just sold my Frisco track charts! What is going on??? Ha!

No matter the size or sophistication of one's layout, Ken, it's never easy to see one hauled out. I think that's especially the case if there's any tie-in with our offspring. And, from what I've seen, the track charts are staying "in the family," if you will.

Hang in there. When those of us along the I-70 corridor are harrumphing about our frozen giblets and muttering about why the neighbors aren't out shoveling 10 inches of snow off of their sidewalks, too, you are cordially invited to sit outside in Bermudas and a loud shirt and enjoy the wide array of resources on frisco.org, knowing that you still have scads of information available to you that you didn't have to move!

    Best Regards,

Ken, if I make it down your way, I will stop and at least say, Hi! Otherwise, I am pretty sure you will still be making trips to Olathe from time to time. After February, if you are coming to town, let me know. I would like to treat you to some great barbeque and give you the opportunity to see at least one Frisco layout here.

    Keith -
For sure we will be still doing the Olathe trip to see the family. I think we will be there in December for sure.
I’d love to join you for some "KC-BBQ” and KC exposure and would like to bring Kurt along if that is OK. Caroline and I visited Rick and his fantastic layout a few years ago, but that’s about all we have seen in the KC area. We’ll look for a time after February as well.
