For layout planning purposes, what was a fairly busy Frisco passenger station that had freight trains passing through? As examples, at Springfield, there was only freight switching--Main line freights passed on the other side of town. At Tulsa freight trains skirted by at the edge of the passenger station. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks, Tom

    Tom -

I'll show my St Louis bias ....

St Louis Tower Grove - Eastern and River Division passenger, some freights

St Louis Webster Groves - Eastern Div, passenger plus lots of freights

Valley Park - Eastern Div passenger plus freights, plus MoPac passenger and freights one block away

Pacific - Eastern Div passenger plus freights, plus the MoPac is on the other side of the station

Right Ken--I hadn't thought about the suburban stations. That old Valley Park station was a classic! Does it still exist? I'd be surprised--That's just the kind of building that our "city fathers" bulldoze down!

    Tom -

You are correct ..... the SLSF Valley Park depot is gone, flattened sometime in the early 1990's as I recall.

It was a neat looking building - several pics are on the Missouri RR depots web page.

    Tom,

    A few other possibilities..

Paola, Kansas: double track through depot....Frisco psgr trains to the SE and to OK; MKT psgr trains and frt trains had trackage rights KC to Paola. The MP Colorado Eagle ran from KC to Paola over the Frisco.

Ft Scott: double track through depot Frisco psgr trains to SE, to OK, and the Joplin local (121 and 124). Large engine facilities and yd

Afton, OK: St Louis to OK psgr trains; KC to OK psgr trains. Engine facilities and yd.

Since my paradigm hasn't shifted from the River Division...:)

Depending on era you want to model, both Cape Girardeau and Hayti had anywhere from 10-13 passenger trains per day c. 1925. I'd have to dig out my papers.

At the time, Leachville and Hoxie Subdivision passenger trains still originated/teriminated in Cape; and if you want to backdate further, I think the C&EI had a passenger train running to/from Cape c. 1910? I may have gotten this from Karl - he might be able to validate.

Hayti not only had the River Division-Chaffee Sub. mainline trains but also passenger trains running to Kennett and Caruthersville on the Caruthersville Branch.
