Thanks, Guys, I need to get off my can and make more sawdust and trees and stuff.
Between the cancer and other stuff I have been fighting .. And grandkids ( 7 under the age of 8) wife is wearing me out since 4 of them are now on the east coast. Flights are all full and trying to travel non revenue status is terrible. I told her, after it took me three days to get home last week, that I am not ever trying to travel until kids are back in school.

Okay Jim, you can exhale now! I know that putting on detail parts you have to hold your breath. Hope you did not pass out !
A great looking model to compliment a great layout.

    What's your next endeavor?

Thanks, John! I was starting to get a little light headed. Today I received the proper trucks so I need to modify them to pick up power from the rails. However it is an odd two piece designed bolster so the usual method of using Kadee centering springs will have to be modified a bit. I'll get it figured out. Some how. I think.
My next project will be side door caboose #319 and a steam dredger for my Diversion Channel construction scene. Unlike my first dredger which moved on two sets of tracks, this one will be on rails laid out onto the swampy ground. Here's a pic of the new trucks. Looks just like the prototype.

Nice Jim!!! I agree, the new style Kadee trucks are a bit weird at the bolster.

    Don't forget the battery idea!

Whatever you do ..... very neat Frisco waycar!

So I finally finagled some pick up brushes to enable all eight wheels to pick power for the Soundcar decoder. Here's a couple of quick pics.

Very good, Jim. With that Soundtraxx Current Keeper, you will find that the illumination on the caboose will stay on for some time after you shut down layout power.

Hey Keith. Could I run both marker lamps off of the yellow wire so that I can turn them both on/off together. Could I split the yellow wire and use a resistor for each marker lamp?

Jim, yes you could split the F0 output as you describe; that would work just fine.

I finally got back into the basement and wired up my marker lamps and interior light. They can be turned off and on individually with the Soundcar decoder. This caboose provides super realistic train sounds and the lighting control just adds icing on the cake.

Jim, you might experiment programming those marker lamps with the Firebox flicker and see if it looks realistic for flame-lit markers. If you wired the markers to the White F0f wire, set CV 49 to 13 if they are bulbs, 141 if they are LEDS. You should have Fo programmed to be on forward and reverse; CV 33 and 34 set to 3.
If the flicker doesn't look right, set CV 19 back to 0.

If you wired the markers to the Yellow F0r wire, set CV 50 to 13 if they are bulbs, 141 if they are LEDS. You should have Fo programmed to be on forward and reverse; CV 33 and 34 set to 3.
If the flicker doesn't look right, set CV 50 back to 0.

I think I can smell the coffee on the stove in the caboose, Jim. Nicely done, sir.

That is some really cool stuff Jim!! Nothing like the looks of the period of equipment and capture it so well.

    Thanks,
