Frisco's Fort Smith & Van Buren bridge Attached is a photo of the Frisco's Fort Smith & Van Buren bridge that opened for traffic in February 1886. The bridge had a man-operated swing span. The hard to see small house near rhe fourth pier likely housed the machinery.
Image number 5 is Trestle No. 3, the smallest of the three Central Division trestles, south of Winslow, AR on the Central Division. The original image came from a Frisco travel promotion booklet published about 1900. The first trestle was built by the Delaware Bridge & Iron Company in 1885-1886 and was replaced by a new trestle around 1900. Tomd6

this is a draw bridge the Frisco had to cross to get to the Mobile yard. It is now operated by the Alabama State Docks railroad but may have been operated by the Frisco (I don't know, I didnt live here then) Then the line leads into the CSX yard before ending at the Frisco terminal
