Yesterday we went to Arkansas City Kansas to look at houses and we got a leak in radiator that boiled all the coolant out. We were stuck for three hours before could get the truck started again, made it to Newkirk OK and spent the night. We are in Ponca City to repair the leak and should be back on the road in about a hour. Hopefully we won't have any more trouble on the way home. Seems like if it's one thing or another that makes our days challenging. Haha

Bad news for our truck, it has a blown head gasket. We made it home about six pm thanks to a friend. The truck is still in Ponca City and will be towed back to Broken Arrow for repairs paid by the dealer after the holiday so we will get a rental car tomorrow morning. Really glad it's still under warranty. Needless to say it's been a couple of stressful days but we're home safe and that's all that matters.

This afternoon I used caulking to attach rock castings and going to do scenery this evening.

This morning I applied plaster around the rock castings to blend them with the mountains on the south end of module 08, left. Still have a few rock castings to blend on the north end, right, and gorge but will leave them for another day.

Next step is painting the foam and rock castings then sift real dirt and ground foam on top. Cynthia made a lot of trees for this module.

The two foot long steel trestle should arrive later this week.

Next step is the north end of module 08 doing a little bit of everything to get to goal of trees.

Yesterday afternoon I planted more trees, also placed vegetation over the joint between modules 07 and 08 to hide it.

Still need to paint the rock castings some more.

I received the steel trestle this afternoon and I'm in the process of putting the kit together. Man there's a lot of pieces.

The last few days I've had problems with my legs so haven't been able to work on the layout but feeling a little better today.

I've spent the last two evenings removing flash from the bridge parts, have everything ready to assemble now. There was a lot of flash and the instructions are not that great. Luckily have experience building bridges.

I've been sick with a stomach flu for the last week and haven't worked on anything. Today wasn't too bad so I hope it's just about over.

After a week and half of battling a stomach flu I finished the steel trestle main span which is 320 scale feet long, 24 inches this evening. Will build the support towers in the morning and hopefully install it tomorrow afternoon.

It feels great to be able to work on the layout again.

In the bottom photo the trestle is upside down to attach the sections to each other.

My friend and neighbor Gary took the layout to a storage unit today. Cynthia and I are going to stay in a hotel with kitchen until we find a new place. The apartment we found earlier had some additional fees so it wouldn't work for us.

We only have a cabinet, two recliners, one chair and kitchen stuff to move next Saturday to complete our move. All of the other rooms are finished. It's been a very busy couple of weeks and glad it's almost done.

I'm going to use my down time on the N scale layout to plan a HO layout that will go on top of the overhead valence. It will be about 16 inches wide and 28 feet long U shaped with a Wye at one end, turntable at the other end and controlled by DCC. Time era around mid 1920s and using a time saver track plan. Have been looking at 2-8-0 and 2-6-0 steam locomotives on eBay to get an idea on prices. Don't know what Frisco location yet, any recommendations?

Last evening I worked on the steel trestle towers cutting off the sprues and injection tabs, there was 28 cuts on the four angled supports, 30 on four cross braces and a lot of flash. Still need to file the cuts, it took awhile to do them all.

Bob, Thank you for the link to Trainworld!!! They beat eBay by quite a bit, will definitely go there when I'm ready to purchase.

We are still in our apartment for now but looking to make the final move hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Most of our stuff is in storage.

Will pm you with the new address asap. Please don't send the items until we move to new address.

    Thank you in advance.
