I had a few minutes to work on modules 03 and 04. Decided to move the curved turnout about six inches because it was on the joint between 03 and 04. Also added a section of flex track for the mainline. Hopefully will continue installing track later tonight.

Yesterday was a very productive day, installed track on modules 02, 03 and 04. The mainline was extended three feet and the spur for MFA Grain Mill and the REA Depot. Today's project is to install the passing track and yard lead. Just finished the roadbed for the passing track.

Here are the photos of yesterday's progress. Will post today's later tonight.

I'm into DCC now. Dale Baker came by yesterday and gave me a Bachmann DCC system. He is too kind.

What decoder do you recommend for a N scale steam locomotive, I'm not sure if I want sound. Noticed that some units with sound they sound like it's in a tin can.

Joe, one of the local installers (aside from me) does a lot of N scale stuff and the Tsunami TSU-1100 Steam will fit in a number of N scale tenders with one of the long shallow sugar cube type speakers and will sound very good. Contact me via Conversation and we can discuss further.

This afternoon I installed the yard lead turnout and the passing track on modules 02 and 03. Plan on installing ballast on the main and passing track on modules 02, 03 and 04 tonight after dinner. Maybe will install ballast on modules 06, 07 and 08 if there is enough time. Been a busy day but glad to work on the layout for a hour.

Beautiful track work. Things ought to run quietly and smooth as butter.

Thank you Jim, glad you like it. Just wish I could find more time to work on the layout but I'm having a lot of fun and that is what is important.

Cynthia and I are looking to buy a new mobile home and move in two or three months. Progress on the layout will continue as designed because the bedroom that will be for the layout is bigger than one in our apartment. Hopefully will be able to build a module for the Arkansas River bridge, that's the goal with the larger space. That's the nice thing about building the layout in modules.

    Joe.
I am optomistic for you and your family.
I hope you find a place for everyone and everything.
When I was just a little kid we lived in a single wide. But there was room for a Montgomery Wards shed, and that was where my empire was built.
No heat, no cooling, but lots of trains! Adobe dirt by the meggaton, so that was my scenery. I remember going back to Quanah for visits, we stopped in Pueblo CO, at a K-Mart and I bought everything they had that was Frisco. Now, I raked yards, mowed yards, shoveled snow forever just to have enough to buy anything Frisco.
There was a house fire that destroyed all this, when I was overseas (USMC 79-83).

But I remember these times as the best.
Really doesn't matter what your home is.
The family makes the home, you will be fine, some of my best memories of MRRing is dealing with and figuring thru restrictions. I am sure you have known same. You, your family and them modules will have a space, and you all, are gonna be fine.

Would one of you guys give me the link for a photo of the Arkansas River bridge between Ft. Smith and Van Buren. Looking to add a module with the bridge when we move in the mobile home.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The Arkansas River bridge, is really a neat bridge. I've been over it several times. I used to dream, the American Crane was going too fast, I would jump off , run at a sprint, release to get the bridge in place. And Oh, the power was off.
The KCS bridge at Spiro, is a one of a kind. It's pre-stressed so that most tension is gone under load. It is also on rollers. So it moves as the bridge loads. All good sites if you are going to the Frisco Mopac get togather.

I'm thinking about scraping module 05 to place the Arkansas River bridge on a new module. Will move the buildings and coal trestle on module 05 to another location. What do you think about the idea?

Your input will be greatly appreciated.
